About the Job
The mid-level developer will play a major role in the development of high-quality software, with a strong focus on backend development using Elixir. The role will also provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers and participate in the technical design of products and systems.
Job Description
- Develop and implement high-quality software features and components, with a strong focus on Elixir-based backend development, based on requirements and specifications provided.
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented Elixir code, following established coding standards, best practices, and development processes.
- Conduct thorough unit testing of developed features and components to identify and fix bugs, ensure functionality, and maintain code quality.
- Collaborate closely with QA Specialists to support integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing, promptly addressing any identified issues or bugs.
- Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and incorporating feedback from senior developers to continuously improve coding skills and knowledge.
- Work with UI/UX Designers and frontend developers to ensure the proper implementation and integration of user interface designs and user experience requirements.
- Contribute to technical design discussions, offering ideas and suggestions to improve Elixir applications, system architecture, performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Maintain clear and concise technical documentation, including code comments, README files, and API documentation, to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing Elixir applications and backend services, identifying and resolving technical issues where required.
- Interpret the high-level task breakdown from the senior developer or Team Lead and translate requirements into actionable development tasks.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, particularly in backend development and Elixir programming.
Skills
• 2+ years working in an enterprise software engineering team.
• Strong hands-on experience with Elixir and production-level backend development.
• Good understanding of Elixir, functional programming, and the Elixir ecosystem.
• Comfortable working with relational databases and SQL.
• Production experience in backend programming; Elixir is the primary backend language, with Python as an added advantage.
• Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Experience working with HTML/CSS and any frontend framework.
• Experience with Vue is an added advantage.
